Magneticfield Sensors

Sensors based on the detection of magnetic fields have gained in importance enormously in recent years. With these sensors, it is possible to implement magnetic switches (ON/OFF) or analog measurements of distances or rotation angles. The advantage of these sensors over mechanical switches, for example, is their insensitivity to dirt and moisture. The most important technology for magnetic field measurement is still Hall technology. In recent years, however, magnetoresistive technologies in the form of TMR and AMR sensors have partially replaced Hall technology, as magnetoresistive sensors are significantly more sensitive and require less power than Hall sensors. Sensors for magnetic fields are available with analogue or digital outputs and in some cases offer the option of programming measurement parameters such as the switching fields or sensitivity and performing linearizations in the sensor itself.
