Optocouplers
A photocoupler optically links, via a transparent isolating material, an infrared LED and a photodetector within one housing. Usually this detector is a phototransistor or a photodiode with some additional amplifiers. These devices are used for galvanic separation and protection of the inputs of switching power supplies, telecommunications equipment and household appliances. Beside that the manufacturers offer Intelligent Power Module-, Photovoltaic- and MOSFET/IGBT Gate Drive Optocoupler.
The optocouplers of the manufacturers CT Micro, Everlight and Cosmo are approved according to the most important safety approvals like VDE, UL,.. Everllight also offers AEC-Q102 certified optocouplers for automotive applications.
