Rohs

Since 2003, EC Directive 2002/95/EC (RoHS 1) has regulated the restriction of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment. The aim is to protect people and the environment by prohibiting substances that are harmful to health and the environment in equipment sold within the EU. On January 3, 2013, RoHS 1 was replaced by Directive 2011/65/EU (RoHS 2).

Reach

The REACH Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006 is an EU-wide chemicals regulation that has been in force since June 1, 2007. REACH stands for Registration, Evaluation, Authorization, and Restriction of Chemicals and serves to protect humans and the environment from chemical risks. It harmonizes chemical legislation in the EU and obliges companies to record and evaluate their substances. Substances of very high concern are listed in the SVHC list and are subject to special requirements.

Conflict Minerals

The EU Conflict Minerals Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2017/821) came into force on January 1, 2021, and regulates the due diligence obligations for EU importers of certain minerals and metals originating from conflict-affected and high-risk areas. The aim is to curb the financing of conflicts and human rights violations through trade in these raw materials.
