Wer seinen Quarz-gesteuerten Oszillator nicht selbst aufbauen möchte, greift zum Quarzoszillator. Solche Oszillatoren, auch PXOs genannt (Precision Xtal Oscillator), sind generell als Hybridschaltung auf einer kleinen Leiterplatte aufgebaut.
Oszillatoren, ursprünglich die »Luxusversion« des Quarzes, sind inzwischen auch für günstigere Applikationen »erschwingliche« Frequenzgeber. Der Oszillator bietet die Komplettlösung einer Oszillatorschaltung in werksseitig optimierter Abstimmung, verbunden mit hoher Qualität, Zuverlässigkeit, Genauigkeit und Anschwingsicherheit:
