Since SAW filters came into actual use in the middle of the 1970s as video intermediate frequency filters, research and development efforts have remained vigorous to enhance their operating frequencies and performance for use in mobile telecommunication equipment. As a result, SAW filters began to appear in cellular phones, cordless phones and pagers. These filters are applied in communication systems, radio transmission systems, GSM, UMTS, CDMA-applications, PCNapplications.
SAW Resonators Resonators are used as narrow band filters or frequency determining elements in oscillators. Their direct generation of frequency in the UHF and lower-microwave range makes them suitable for designing particularly low-noise oscillators in radio- relay, satellite communications, radar applications and remote control systems.
