Power Supply ICs - DC/DC

For power supplies DC/DC converters are utilised today
in many electronic equipments which stand out for their high
efficiency (up to >90%) at lower temperature and low power
design. In battery operated devices, for example from a 1.5V
battery to 5V voltage supply a DC/DC converter is necessary.
NJRC and Sanyo afford a wide range of DC/DC converters:
step-up, step-down and fly-back, for example: LV5040 (see
picture) “Synchronous rectifier 2-ch DC/DC Down Converter
Control IC”.

In complementary to the above mentioned switching regulators, Sanyo
affords moreover combinations, e.g.: 2 switching regulators + 2
linear regulators + 1 voltage inverter for negative voltage in a
chip (LV5045) with additional integrated protection functions.
Furthermore there are arrays, which were developed for the active
termination of DDR1-RAMs alternatively DDR2-RAMs and
show extensive faster reaction than the comparable regulators.

Endrich also affords application support for switching and layout
with those devices.

Features
  • Input voltage: 0.9V ... 60V
  • Output current: 5.5A max. with internal switch
  • Controller with external switch for high voltage/current
  • Clock frequency up to >1MHz
  • Voltage-mode, Current-Mode
  • Synchronous rectifier available
  • Small packages
  • Efficiency up to 95%

Applications
  • All electric and electronic devices, wherein a DC voltage
    transformation is needed
  • Because of the cheapness of the parts an assignment is profitable especially for mass-production
  • Active termination for memory (DDR1 + DDR2)
  • Power supply with multipart outputs
