Ceramic Filters, Ceramic Resonators

Ceramic Resonatorsare between quartz crystal oscillators and LC/RC oscillators regarding their accuracy but are considerably smaller, require no adjustments, have improved start-up times, and are very inexpensive. Their oscillation depends on the mechanical resonance linked with their piezoelectric crystalline structure.

Ceramic Filtersget their basic frequency selectivity from a mechanical vibration resulting from a piezoelectric effect. Nearly all low- and high-end AM and FM commercial radios use ceramic band pass filters. Applications are also found in cordless telephones.
